Premier Kathleen Wynne is taking the blame for Ontario's sky high electricity rates, calling it "her mistake."
The premier made the comment during a speech to Ontario Liberal party faithful at their general meeting in Ottawa Saturday.
Wynne says she takes responsibility "for not paying close enough attention to some of the daily stresses in Ontarians' lives."
She said it is "unacceptable" that some people are having to choose between paying for food and their electricity bills.
An eight-percent rebate on electricity bills comes into effect January 1st but Wynne says she will find more ways to lower rates and reduce the burden on consumers.
