Windsors Teavana Location Set To Close

NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 24: People stand outside the newly opened Teavana "tea bar" on October 24, 2013 in New York City. Teavana, which Starbucks bought last year, was until recently a chain of nearly 300 shops that sold loose teas and other tea related items. The seattle based Starbucks company has opened the cafe which sells specialty tea based drinks, small dishes and pastries in a modern cafe-like setting. Starbucks has said that teas drinks were among the fastest-growing drinks at Starbucks cafes. Starbucks currently plans to open more Teavana tea bars in the near future. The store is located inside Devonshire Mall

Starbucks has announced it is closing all of its Teavana locations.

There are 379 stores across North America, with 56 locations in Canada.

Locally there is one store in Windsor-Essex.  It's located inside Devonshire Mall.

The company plans to close all of its Canadian stores by September.

The closure will impact 3200 people across the chain but the company hopes to offer them jobs at Starbucks locations.

Starbucks acquired the mall-based chain in late 2012.

Teavana focuses on loose-leaf tea, tea gifts and teaware.
