The third edition of the Comic Book Syndicon in Windsor is turning into big business.
Over 1,000 people packed the St. Clair Centre for the Arts on Sunday. The comic convention featured over 80 comic book writers, artists and vendors from Ontario, Michigan and New Jersey. The convention floor was also filled with comic books, toys and video games.
Event co-ordinator Jolie Inthavong says the show continues to grow with expanding artists lists and high attendance.
"There is more to comics than just costumes and the frivolity that people think it is," says Inthavong, adding the date change helped the event. "This year people were surprised that we moved from February to April, the weather is beautiful and people love the view so that is a plus."

Inthavong says although there were some big name guests, the local retailers are a favourite.
"Windsor has a really strong desire to support local so we ahve a lot of independent retailers who people just love to support and we have a couple of people from out of town but people tend towards the faces that are familiar," says Inthavong.
The creator of Transformers, Bob Budiansky, was the featured guest. There were also several activities including live sketching, animation demos and panel discussions.
