The City of Windsor has put out a survey to gather information from people whose basements flooded last fall and people whose basement didn't flood.
The goal is to gather information for long-term planning for infrastructure projects.
After a heavy rain last September, nearly 3,000 homeowners in the city called 3-1-1 to report flooding.
Speaking on AM800's the Afternoon News, Windsor Engineer Mark Winterton says it's important that as many people as possible fill out the survey."We want to get a good cross-section all the way across the city, it is something that every house has a potential to flood."
Winterton says several questions are in the survey. "We have got some historical stuff like have you flooded before? Do you have a basement? Do you know what kind of water came into your basement? Was it clear or was it sewage water?"
The Basement Flooding Survey is available online on the city's website and in hard copy by contacting 3-1-1.
