Weekend traffic stop near Ridgetown leads to more serious charges for a Windsor pair

A Windsor couple face numerous charges after a traffic stop by the OPP in Chatham Kent.

Officers pulled over a speeding vehicle on the 401 at Kennesserie Road (north of Ridgetown) on Saturday at about 7 PM.

They discovered the male driver had a G1 license and is not allowed to drive on a 400 series highway.

Checking the female passenger's license, the officer discovered a number of outstanding warrants.

While making the arrest a check of the vehicle turned up suspected methamphetamine.

31-year-old Derek Welna is charged with driving on the 401 with a license prohibiting it, speeding and possession of a controlled substance.

31-year-old Stephanie Dixon is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
