It looks like Windsor is going to get a white Christmas.
In this region, there is usually a 44% chance of a white Christmas, but because of the snowfall this month along with the bitterly cold temperatures recently, it has provided a good base to keep the white stuff on the ground.
Senior Climatologist at Environment Canada David Phillips says there will be more than a couple of centimetres of snow on the ground come December 25th
"It looks like a done deal, I would bet a few loonies on the fact that Windsor and Essex County will have that perfect kind of Christmas morning with snow on the ground," says Phillips.
Christmas Day should be a fresh coating of snow according to Phillips.
"All of that dirty snow at the end of the driveway will be freshened up with snow tomorrow and the first day of winter," says Phillips. "Flurries on Thursday and then we see temperatures -2 C (28 F) and 2 C (36 F) on Thursday which we are forecasting the high."
Windsor-Essex has not seen a white Christmas for the past three years.
