The new head of the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation is looking forward to 2017.
Stephen MacKenzie has been in the role for about four months and says he's got his bearings now.
MacKenzie says the work to develop a strategic plan for the coming year is underway.
"As you would hope, the real strengths bubble to the top, and of course the challenges bubble to the top very quickly. So you can start to do strategic planning to maximize strengths and mitigate or improve factors you need to improve on."
He says the key players at the corporation will gather in the new year to brainstorm.
"We have a session scheduled with our board of directors on January 11 for a strategic planning session. So I would say working on it and getting very close to solidifying it."
MacKenzie the corporation has been very successful with business retention and expansion in the final quarter of 2016.
