Bystanders at a west end fire in an abandoned building are not surprised at the occurrence.
Windsor firefighters responded to 3416 Sandwich St. near Chippawa St. around 1pm today after reports of smoke coming from the two-storey building.
Jackie used to live in the neighbourhood but moved away because of drug activity and fires in abandoned homes. She tells AM800 News she's not surprised
"It's all over the west end, you have it on Indian Rd. too, all these houses need to come down or we're going to continue spending money. I think squatters lived there (3416 Sandwich St.) — lots of homeless people and you have building like this you have drug addicts, whatnot — you have meth-heads here in the west end."

A man driving along the street saw a lot of smoke coming from the building and called the fire department.
