A member of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys is giving back to a Windsor charity.
Defensive End Tyrone Crawford is raising money for Connections Early Years Family Centre at 795 Giles Blvd. E. near Marentette Ave.
As part of the NFL's 'My Cause, My Cleats', the cleats worn in a recent game by Crawford are now being auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting the organization.

Barb Brown is Executive Director of the non-profit organization and says Crawford's mother used Connections a number of years ago.
"He's featuring our centre as his cause and it's grounded in the belief that families need support like his mother received, many years ago, when he was a young man here in Windsor," says Brown.
She calls it an honour to be recognized by Crawford.
"When somebody 25 years later still remembers the impact that our service provided for them, that truly means a lot of us and it encourages us to continue what we've been doing," says Brown.

The money raised will be used to renovate the site.
"So we can put in an elevator and actually be accessible to all families with young children zero to six years,"says Brown. "So the money will be going directly to the campaign. We're in phase one right now and that's renovating our outside areas."
The organization provides free services for families with children up to six-years of age.
Brown says the services are geared towards providing healthy development of children and their parents.
