Final arguments have been heard in the trial of a Windsor defence lawyer charged with two counts of attempting to obstruct justice.

Paul Esco is accused of approaching a crown witness in an unlawful entry case on March 7, 2017 and urging the witness to change his testimony.

But the defence argued the crown has not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt and the witness, Brad Rosehart, was not credible or reliable.

The crown contends Esco offered Rosehart money to change his story but Rosehart felt uncomfortable and reported the interaction to police.

During the trial this week, Rosehart testified that Esco asked to testify that he didn't remember anything.

Justice Helen Rady will hand down her decision on January 30th at 2 p.m. in Superior Court.
