Gateways Cascades Casino in Chatham celebrated its grand opening Thursday

Mayor Darren Canniff says it's a big day for tourism in Chatham-Kent.

Gateways' Cascades Casino celebrated its grand opening Thursday with a ribbon-ceremony that included Cannliff and several officials.

The evening kicked off with a cheque totalling $884,638 being presented to the region — part of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming's Municipality Contribution Agreement.
