OPP have identified the person killed Wednesday evening on the 401.
Cory Lynn Dauphin, 35, of Windsor, Ontario was in the westbound lanes of the 401 Highway when she was struck by a motor vehicle that did not stop at the collision and has yet to be identified.
Police say it is still unknown why Dauphin was on the highway, although a blue Chevrolet registered to her was parked on the shoulder near the collision scene.
Witnesses have told police that vehicles, including a tractor trailer occupied by two men had stopped shortly after the collision but did not provide their names and left the scene prior to police arriving.
The OPP are requesting that anyone that stopped at this collision or may have been in the vicinity of the 401 Highway west of County Road 19/Manning Road at approximately 6:50pm, immediately contact them at 519-723-2491.
