Leamington's uptown will be the focus for the town's mayor heading into 2017.
Mayor John Paterson says "it is has been a focus for a long time but it is really hard to make necessary changes there and in comparison to Windsor's downtown, our uptown is a lot smaller."
"The town's uptown core needs some help" says Paterson. "It is property absentee landlords and getting that straightened out, our CIP is working really well but I think the municipality has to step in and make some investments."
On the jobs front, Paterson says the town is doing well with some new businesses and retailers setting up shop.
He also thinks 2016 has been positive on a lot of fronts with the purchase of the waterfront property and funding for new sewer lines to reduce pollution going into the lake.
