Two Windsor men have now been charged following a shooting in the downtown.
On Sunday, around 6:15am, police were called to an apartment building on Giles Boulevard West and Dougall Ave. for a report of shots fired.
Officers noticed a Hyundai Tuscon idling which sped off at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle then struck the front porch of a home on Church St.
The shotgun and ammunition were seized.
An investigation found the building where the shots were fired did not get hit and no one was hurt.
A tenant of a nearby apartment building — who did not want to be named — tells AM800 News he heard what he thought were gunshots in the early morning hours.
"I was awakened by a very loud popping sound, it woke me out of a dead sleep, within maybe five or ten seconds later there was another sound that resembled the exact same popping," the resident says. "I didn't hear anything after it."
The tenant dismissed the sounds after not hearing any sirens and fell back asleep, but when he awoke it was clear something had happened.
"I woke up maybe around 9am and wanted to take a peak and see what was out there," says the Windsorite. "I looked out my balcony and police had that whole area around that little three-story apartment all taped off. There was three or four police cars, one was forensics."
20-year-old Keith Florence and 21-year-old Kuoc Keror, both of Windsor, are charged with numerous firearm-related offences.
