LaSalle Police have released more information on a Christmas Day stabbing that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
Just before 9pm on Tuesday night, officers were called to the area of Golfview Dr. and Matchette Rd. where they found a 20-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police say the victim and suspect are known to each other and had planned to go to a bar, but since it was Christmas Day, the bar was closed so the suspect drove into LaSalle and stopped at a laneway where the pair got into an altercation and the victim was stabbed repeatedly in the torso and left arm.
Police say while bleeding heavily from his injuries, the victim managed to flee on foot and staggered through a wooded area and approached several residences seeking help before a resident on Golfview Dr. heard him and contacted police and EMS.
The suspect meantime, fled in an orange coloured Honda Element with an Arizona licence plate, and has not been located.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
