The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has launched an investigation at Chuck's Roadhouse on Tecumseh Road East.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed says an employee at the restaurant worked while infected on July 24 and July 25.
He says there is no identified source as to where the employee contracted the virus.
Dr. Ahmed says the worker did not know they were infected.
"The case was working while the case was infectious but taking all the right precautions including wearing the mask and maintaining physical distancing with their employees and doing everything that they're suppose to do which is a good sign that makes it a low risk event," says Dr. Ahmed.
He says if you were at the restaurant on July 24 or 25, you will be contacted.
"We want to make sure that anyone who visited the facility on that day, most of them will be contacted directly and identified based on the register which we know that the employer's facility is keeping," says Dr. Ahmed. "So anyone who has visited the facility, they have their information."
A manager at Chuck’s tells CTV Windsor the employee is a female server in her 20s. He says she began showing symptoms on Monday, July 27.
The restaurant is closed on Friday, but he hopes it will reopen on Saturday. The manager says staff is ensuring that the facility is clean and they are following all protocols.
