Byron Buxton's solo homer in the bottom of the 10th gave the Twins a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays in Minneapolis. Jorge Polanco singled in two for Minnesota, which has a three-game lead on the Angels for the second AL wild card spot.
Dillon Gee (2-2) pitched one inning of relief for Minnesota, which earned its fifth walk-off win of the season and has won six of its past eight games.
Toronto's Justin Smoak had tied the game with a two-out homer in the top of the ninth off Twins closer Matt Belisle.
The Twins and Jays continue their four-game series tonight at Target Field. Bartolo Colon will get the start for Minnesota. Toronto will counter with lefty J.A. Happ.
