A building owned by the University of Windsor will soon meet the wrecking ball.
On Monday, Windsor city council gave the thumbs up to the university to demolish the former Iona College/Stuart Macdonald House on Sunset Ave.
University spokesperson John Coleman says the school is pleased with the city's decision, and will look into demolition plans later today.
"There's nothing kind of set in stone that this will happen tomorrow or the next day but we'll just sit back and see," says Coleman. "This is getting the process going."
He says the site will become become a parkette and greenspace.
"We consulted with neighbours, nearby neighbours about it and got their input in what they like in trees to plants, that sort of thing," says Coleman.
