The former Canderel building at 1 Riverside Dr. W. in downtown Windsor has a new tenant.
Willis Business Law has officially opened its doors in some office space on the 5th floor, which will house six lawyers and eight support staff.
Founding partner William Willis says it's the perfect location. "We have amazing views of the Detroit skyline and there's nowhere else we wanted to be when we had this vision for the new firm. We wanted to be in this building and we wanted to be in this location. We love being downtown and, in particular, we just love being here in this particular spot."

Willis says they're looking forward to having a presence downtown. "We feel very fortunate to be part of Windsor-Essex. The community that we're in, the community has been supportive and one of our main pillars is our wanting to give back to this community that's given us so much. So we're just grateful for not only our clients, but the community as a whole. We just love being here."
Last week, a new Veterans Affairs Office opened on the 6th floor of the building, which is also the headquarters for Fiat Chrysler Canada.
In September of last year, Windsor Family Credit Union bought 25% of the property at the foot of Ouellette Ave. and Riverside Dr., with a goal of bringing the building to 100% occupancy.
