The first splash has taken place at the FINA pool inside the main bowl of WFCU Centre.
This morning, former Olympic swimmer Kelly Stefanyshyn took the first lap in the 25 metre pool.
She's the Operations Director for the event and says it was nice to test it out.
Stefanyshyn says the pool still needs to get a bit warmer.
"79 degrees Fahrenheit is were we want it at, just a couple degrees lower right now, they started heating it yesterday so it will be all good by tomorrow, says Stefanyshyn.

Athletes can begin training in the pool tomorrow.
They'll also be training at the Family Aquatic Centre.
The pool itself is done but crews continue to work on the flooring, signage and the large score screen.
The competition begins on Tuesday.
