COVID19 precautions delayed the normal start of the additional summer workforce in May

The city is working to spruce up Windsor's parks and flower gardens.

The city has hired 75 summer students and 15 summer seasonal staff to handle the job.

COVID-19 precautions delayed the normal start of the additional summer workforce in May and called for some full-time staff redeployment to other priority areas, including the community garden.

In a release, the city says that "now that training is complete for the majority of students, a seven-day workweek with varied start times spread over two shifts per day, will soon be underway."

The city is reminding everyone that all playgrounds remain closed along with Sandpoint Beach.

The following is an up-to-date list of park washrooms:

Open park washrooms:

o   Malden Park - Matchette Road
o   Malden Park - Malden Road
o   Festival Plaza
o   Charles Clark Square
o   Reaume Park
o   Jackson Park - Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens

There are also port-a-johns at:
o   Caron Avenue Pumping Station
o   Dieppe - Bistro
o   Windsor Water World

All other park washrooms remain closed.
