Students from 30 elementary schools in Windsor-Essex are learning to be champions of a healthy lifestyle.
They took part in a forum Friday morning at the WFCU Centre as part of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
The students will go return to their schools and spread the word about exercising, drinking water instead of sugary drinks and eating fruits and vegetables.
"If you are going to be in a job where you have to be strong, you have to eat healthy," says Our Lady of Annunciation School student Andrew Wuller.
Joshua Therrien is a student at HJ Lassaline and says he will pass the message on.
"I think it is to be healthy, eat healthier so you evolve and getting older, you can stay fit," he says.

The City of Windsor applied to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to lead the project and received three years of funding at $175,000 per year.
Community Health Project Manager Joe Parent says the forum is important because kids tend to follow what other kids are doing.
