Final preparations are underway for this year's Taste of Tecumseh Festival — the two day event kicks off tonight at Lakewood Park.
Chair Tony Corona says the event is a beer, wine, spirits and food festival. He says he looks forward to the event every year.
"The thing I look forward to is doing the event — seeing all the people that are smiling, laughing having a good time," says Corona. "Then after raising money so we can give it to what is near and dear to my heart to different activities for children in the community throughout the year."
He says more than 7,500 people are expected to attend.
"We have a big tent, 150 by 60 ft. tent where Bigg Wiggle is playing both evenings," he says. "We have three local breweries, four local wineries. Hiram Walker is also bringing alcohol and wine also and we have 14 local food vendors."
The Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach puts on the event. This year marks the third year for the event.
