The strike continues at Clear Medical Imaging after an offer by the employer was voted down by 96 per cent of the members represented by Unifor Local 2458.
Clear Medical Imaging requested the Ontario Ministry of Labour to conduct a final offer vote on the company's latest proposal and members voted Wednesday and Thursday.
"It just shows you after six weeks of being on the strike line we're not going to have an employer try to divide this membership," said Ken Durocher, president, Unifor Local 2458.
"It just shows how strong they are and we will continue to try and get a collective agreement that is fair for everybody in that bargaining unit."
According to Durocher, there are a number of issues the employer continues to ignore.
"The wage grid and percentages were dividing the bargaining unit, it was only for a certain amount of the bargaining unit and it left out some other classifications."
He says the bargaining committee is working on a counter proposal.
"We will submit that to the employers [Friday], and hopefully we can get back to the bargaining table working off that counter proposal, which we were preparing last week before the employer requested this final contract offer vote with the labour board."
130 workers from across 11 locations in Windsor, LaSalle, Tecumseh. Essex and Chatham have been off the job since October 25 to back contract demands.
