If you're a fan of running and biking and things outdoors — there's an adventure race right here in Windsor-Essex, for you.
It's the fifth year for the Essex Region Conservation Authority's South Coast Adventure Race.
Participants will canoe, cycle, orienteer, walk or run throughout Essex County, according to ERCA's Danielle Steubing.
She says the race isn't for everybody, but, most people should be able to handle it and ERCA offers a seminar for racers who might need a little help prepare.
"You should be comfortable on a bike, for a ride of about 20km, which is about an hour riding at an average speed," says Steubing. "Be physically fit, but you don't need to be a super athlete for sure."
There's a place in the race for everybody, she added.
"Traditionally adventure races are teams of two or three participants. You can race a team with just your gender mates or you can have coed teams," she says. "It's just such an amazing thing."
The race is slated to begin June 16, the starting point has yet to be determined.
