SIU Investigating Death of Chatham Woman in Windsor
Windsor police arrested the woman September 4.
The province's Special Investigations Unit is looking into the death of a Chatham woman in Windsor.
On September 4th, a group of people was outside the Windsor Public Library branch on Ouellette Ave. and police were called.
Marissa Ellis, 26, was arrested and taken to police headquarters but was behaving erratically and was taken to hospital.
The SIU says she was released the following day, but re-admitted five-days later and died in hospital September 19th.
Two witness officers and two subject officers have been assigned to the case.
SIU investigators believe that several people witnessed the arrest and anyone with information or video of the arrest is asked to come forward.
