Robots have taken over the University of Windsor this weekend.
Don't be alarmed, they'll be controlled by nearly 1,000 high school students looking to win a chance to show manufactures what they've got.
The St. Denis Centre will be the arena for the fourth edition of the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Irek Kusmierczyk of WEtech Alliance says it's a way to showcase some future stars.
"High school students programmed these remarkable 120 lb robots that are completing against each other," says Kusmierczky. "It really is just a showcase of their talents. It's a showcase of engineering. It's a showcase of technology and it's also a showcase of partnerships between local industry as well too, who are really supporting these future engineers and programmers."
But it won't be all business.
Kusmierczyk says organizers made sure science wouldn't be the only focus for weekend.
"It's part Super Bowl, it's part NASCAR, formula one and part NASA as well," says Kusmierczyk. "It's just a great atmosphere, there's music, people are dancing in the audience, they're cheering. It's nothing like you've ever seen before. The public is invited to check this out. It really is a spectacle."
All match ups will be held at the St. Denis Centre. Admission is free.
