A student at St. Clair College has tested positive for COVID-19, but the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit says the risk to other students remains low.
According to a joint release from the college and health unit, strong public health measures in place at the campus are working to curb the spread of the virus and this case is an isolated incident.
Classmates of the student have been told to self-monitor for 14 days, but will be able to continue in-person learning.
According to the college, hundreds of students have been on campus during the spring and summer months to complete their 2019-20 school years as part of a pilot project authorized by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
There has been limited attendance in labs, workshops and clinics where students practice physical distancing and mask wearing.
The plan also requires students and staff to fill out an on-line questionnaire each day to gain access to the college.
