Tecumseh postal workers are looking for some support as nationwide talks with Canada Post are underway.
They held an information picket Monday morning outside of the post office on Tecumseh Rd. East as the first day of restructuring begins today which includes two separate start times for mail delivery and new routes for carriers.
They want people to contact their MP to show their support for postal workers to improve working conditions.
CUPW Windsor Local 630 President Phil Lyons says this is the fifth time in seven years the Tecumseh Depot has undergone restructuring and it has lost 55% of its staff in the last decade.
He says carriers are working 11-12 hours a day to deliver the mail while at the same time, the amount of mail parcels are up in Tecumseh.
Strike votes are scheduled to take place next month and in early September.

National Union President Mike Palecek joined workers for the information picket and says in most cases, overtime is good if the workers want it.
"It is one thing to be given the option of working overtime and picking up an extra shift now and then, but it another thing entirely to be told you have to do this or else you will get disciplined and the flip side is that they also discipline people for putting in the overtime."
He says workers are in a lose-lose situation.
Workers have been without a contract since the beginning of the year.
