The Boston Bruins own the NHLs best record despite being 02 against the leagues worst team
Andreas Athanasiou scored twice in the third period as the Red Wings beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 in Detroit.
Athanasiou broke a 1-all tie with a power play goal midway through the third and then sealed it with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Brendan Perlini opened the scoring in the second period for the Wings, who have won two-of-three on the heels of a nine-game skid.
Jonathan Bernier made 39 saves in the victory.
Torey Krug scored the lone goal 33-seconds into the third period for Boston, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.
Tuukka Rask allowed two goals on 19 shots in defeat.
The Wings skate at Buffalo Tuesday night.
