Windsor city council is set to resume 2018 budget talks by focusing on the capital side today.
After approving the operating budget and bringing the proposed property tax increase down to 0.9% — councillors will sift through a proposed $22.6-million enhanced capital budget.
Some of the more expensive proposals are road and sewer projects including a $1.5-million price tag for engineering work for Crawford Ave. from Wyandotte St. to Tecumseh Rd.
The item with the biggest dollar figure attached is the $5-million tied to a "districting" initiative that would bring in a new Asian Town on the city's west side along with cash for other areas like Walkerville, Ford City and Riverside.
There's $1-million included for a boat to Peche Island along with other improvements and $500,000 for a new bike park.
The enhanced capital budget also includes $250,000 in alley funding to support infrastructure and safety improvements like new lighting.
The proposals will be debated and selected by council Tuesday as budget deliberations resume at 1pm.
