Environment Canada is predicting a weeklong cold snap.

Get ready for bone chilling temperatures to hit Windsor-Essex.

Environment Canada says a system will bring a week-long cold snap to the region beginning tonight.

Meteorologist Mitch Meredith says in addition to the cold temperatures, five to 15 centimetres of snow is expected and with the windchill, it will feel like minus 20 on Thursday overnight.

"We know we usually don't issue the extreme warnings until the windchill gets down to minus 30 so we won't quite be there but you do need to bundle up for the next several days," says Meredith.

The overnight lows will drop to minus 12 for the next few nights, but will feel like minus 20 with the wind chill.
