Popular Erie Street Restaurant Closes
A well-known Italian restaurant on Erie Street has shut down after more than 20 years in business.
La Zingara served its last dish on Monday.
The restaurant was known for its popular Italian dishes and also featured a wood oven for pizza.
Filip Rocca is Vice President of the Erie Street-Via Italia BIA.
He says the BIA never wants to see a business close its doors.
Rocca says despite the closure, Erie Street and its businesses continue to move forward
"We have a lot of investment happening on this street as well so some good things happening and some new construction, some expansion on the street," says Rocca. "We want to keep all our store fronts busy but we'll have to try and fill that space soon."
La Zingara was also a popular spot to watch the Euro Cup and World Cup.
The restaurant was located on Erie Street between Louis and Marentette.
