Blake Griffin dropped in a game-high 29 points as the Detroit Pistons pushed past the New York Knicks 105-92 in the first of a home-and-home at Madison Square Garden.
Andre Drummond added 17 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as Detroit won for the third time in four tries.
The Pistons improved to 24-and-29.
Dennis Smith Jr. scored 25 points to lead the New York charge.
Mitchell Robinson added 13 points and 10 boards for the Knicks, who have lost 14 in-a-row and are an NBA-worst 10-and-43.
The Pistons finish their home-and-home with the Knicks Friday in Detroit.
