One person has been sent to hospital after an apartment fire in east Windsor.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer John Lee says female victim is in critical condition with burn injuries.
The fire broke out just after 4pm at "The Rivard Apartment" building at 2420 Rivard Ave just south of Tecumseh Road East.
Lee says the fire was contained to one unit on the second floor.
"We have notified the Office of the Fire Marshal because of the injury, however, we don't know the extent of damage at this time or injury and we will be having one of our fire investigators attend as well."

He says there is still smoke on all three floors.
"They're still investigating the other suites for possible damage smoke or water damage from extinguishing this fire."
Lee adds, two cats were rescued as well.
The cause and damage estimate are unknown.
