A Caboto Club member is hoping the issue of its 'mens-only vote' is addressed sooner rather than later.
Speaking on AM800's the Lynn Martin Show, Bill Marra admits it was an interesting conversation with passion from both sides during the club's Annual General Meeting on Sunday.
But he emphasized that no vote was taken and no direction was given.
Marra says the on-going debate and discussion is not healthy the longer it continues.
He admits the majority of speakers who spoke at the meeting were in favour of the status quo.
"Ultimately the club is going to have to make a decision and a formal decision," says Marra. "Either through a vote, there is an election in the fall, one of the suggestions was that perhaps it could be put on the ballot, that's another opportunity."
Marra says the president of the club did indicate that the consitution does all for a process to revisit by-laws and policies and that any revisiting would be done within the rules.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne refused to hold a town hall meeting earlier this month at the club due to its mens-only policy which sparked the latest debate.
There are about 1,400 voting members at the club.
