The Ontario Progressive Conservative party has named it's new candidate for Windsor-West.
Local entrepreneur Adam Ibrahim was acclaimed by the party for the 2018 election Saturday morning.
He says one of the main concerns he would like to address is the high, increasing hydro rates.
Ibrahim says people in Windsor have an appetite for change.
"My goal is to put Windsor back on the map," Ibrahim says. "I always felt and I feel that the government doesn't represent Windsor and it's always placed on the back burner. Our current representatives here need to work harder, and we need a voice of change and that's what I'm here to do."

Ontario PC leader Patrick Brown released a statement on Ibrahim, saying "I am very confident that Adam will be a strong voice for the Ontario PC Party's positive message of change."
The 30-year-old candidate was born and raised in Windsor, and is a business marketing graduate at St. Clair College. He joined his family-owned and operated business, Windsor Pure and Clean H2O To Go, and is currently the director of sale and marketing.
Ibrahim is married and has a 2-year-old daughter.
Ibrahim says during the nomination period he signed up 600 memberships across the Windsor-West riding.
