From the FINA World Swimming Championships in Windsor...
LaSalle's Kylie Masse finished 8th in the women's 50m backstroke final Saturday posting a time of 26.46.
That's just twelve one hundredths of a second off her personal best.
She says it's very different from the 100m she swam at the Rio Olympics.
"It's a short timeframe and a completely different race going from long course to short course. So competing here now it's a bit different than the summer, but I just tried to work on those things that I've been working on for the past few months since Rio."
Masse says it feels great to swim in front of her home town crowd.
"It's been so cool to have so many people here cheering and supporting us and to be racing as Canadians on Canadian home soil, it's incredible."
Later in the night, the Canadian women won gold in the 4X200m freestyle relay.
Sunday is the last day of competition.
