The March for Science hit more than 500 cities across the world over the weekend — including Windsor.
More than a hundred people turned up for the march in Windsor beginning at Assumption Park near the Ambassador Bridge.
Austin Teshuba is a Grade 11 student at Vincent Massey Secondary School and he attended the march. He feels events like the march are a big help in boosting interest in science.
"Getting people involved with science is always an important thing for youth," says Teshuba. "Science is definitely our future and making sure that people are always involved and making sure we can make this world a better place is the most important thing we can do."
Teshuba says science is key in securing people's future on Earth.
"I think it's very important to make sure that we do this not only on Earth Day, but on every day because we live on this planet not for just one day a year — we live on it for 365 days a year and making sure we care for it year round is more important than just one day."
The march over the weekend was held on Saturday.
