A Windsor man was killed on the job in November 2016

A Maidstone company has been fined $125,000  in a fatal industrial accident.

On November 16, 2016, a 51-year-old Windsor man died on the job at 'R.J Cyr Company Inc.'  when he was struck by a large steel beam weighing about 1,200 pounds.

Court heard as the worker was securing one of the skids to a support structure with clamps, it tipped toward the worker, knocking him backwards and pinning him to the concrete floor.

There weren't any witnesses but it was captured on security surveillance video.

The Ministry of Labour found no evidence the worker had been properly instructed.

The company pled guilty in court today.
