A local shelter is putting a call for help.
The Welcome Centre Shelter for Women is hoping to top up its food bank and other necessities for the women and children it helps each year.
Volunteer Coordinator Anastasia Adams told AM800's The Afternoon News the demand on the food bank increases this time of year.
"We are a little lower than last year, so we haven't received the same amount as last year unfortunately," says Adams. "But our food bank shelves are getting stocked, but the holiday season we really rely on that influx to propel us throughout the earlier winter months and into the spring when, typically, donations will drop."
If you'd like to donate the centre is located at 263 Bridge Ave and can be reached at 519-971-7595.
