A group of Windsorites are on their way to Ghana.
22 members of Windsor's Rotary International club will be in the African country for three weeks.
The team's goal is to help those in need by providing aid in the form of medical treatment, construction of facilities and supplies for children.
Kim Spirou is the Rotary Club's Team Leader on this trip.
She says it is the rotary's mission to improve people's lives regardless of where they live.
"We have quite an ambitious list of projects that we will be undertaking. We will be renovating two schools, we will be drilling three water wells to provide communities access to clean water and we will also be constructing a very large sanitation facility."
Spirou says she believes her team is qualified to make a difference.
"We have all age groups. Everyone is from different backgrounds. We have a few social workers, a couple of nurses, a doctor and their is a dentist on the team. We come from all walks of life and we all are singularly focused on making a difference in the quality of life in the communities we are visiting."
Each team member was funded by community members across Windsor-Essex, as well as themselves.
