The memorial plaques along the Windsor waterfront to honour veterans have been removed after they were the target of vandals.
The 61 plaques along with 128 Canadian flags were placed on the waterfront as part of the "Veterans Voices of Canada Flags of Remembrance" ceremony on Saturday.
The plaques were sponsored by family, friends or legions to honour veterans.
Group representative Terri Davis-Fitzpatrick says following the ceremony, five of the plaques went missing the next day.
"My son went there after the ceremony on the Sunday and he sent me a picture that five of the plaques were missing out of the 61 that we had," she says.
She had hoped it was the wind, but then four more were gone.
"It really saddens me and makes me feel sad in my heart that people don't understand what this represents that it honours our veterans who sacrificed their lives."

The flags are still along the waterfront and will remain there until November 12th.
