A local athlete is talking about his success.
As AM800 told you last week, Lionel Sanders, a University of Windsor graduate, set the fastest time ever at an Ironman competition.
Sanders says he has learned a lot about pushing his own limits.
He says "the logic was, the more time I spend at race pace, the easier race pace will be when I go to race and that I just don't think that's the case. That's the lesson I learned last year, I think the best way to train is to spend lots of time above race pace."
After being hit by a car four times in four years, Sanders says he now does all his training indoors.
Sanders will be the 'featured guest' on 'RunningFlat Radio' tonight which airs from 7 to 8pm on AM800.
