The Windsor Public Library board is moving forward with a Naming, donation and sponsorship policy.
A special board meeting was held recently to approve a policy in principle, in order to get the ball rolling for the process of naming rights for the new Optimist Branch.
Library CEO, Kitty Pope says this was an important first step, saying "the board has to agree to a policy in principle and then it has to be publicly available for at least 30 days and then the board has to ratify that policy then in this case if there's any names to go forward, it couldn't go forward until at least January."
"People who support the mission, vision and values of the Windsor Public Library, who support reading and lifelong learning, who are pillars of the community. Those are the kind of folks who might be interested in putting their name on a library or putting their name on a community room," says Pope.
As AM800 News told you last week, the board is looking into naming rights for the new Optimist Branch along with other naming opportunities for the branch such as community rooms or furnitire along with the Sandwich Branch.
