The presence of legionella bacteria has been found at the University of Windsor resulting in hot water being shut off at several buildings.
Director of Public Affairs and Communications John Coleman says the bacteria was found in areas of Chrysler Hall Tower, Dillon Hall and Assumption Hall.
He says the bacteria was discovered as part of a preventative maintenance program.
Coleman says at this point, no illnesses have been reported.
"We've been dealing with the health unit and just in general there have been no cases of this reported anywhere that they know of in recent days or weeks," says Coleman.
The university says the hot water and cooling tower systems were analyzed and found other areas also being impacted on campus including Laurier Hall, Leddy Library, Education Building, Biology Building, Lambton Tower, Erie Hall, Essex Hall and Odette School of Business.
Coleman says all students and staff have been notified.
The university has begun steps to isolate the source and continue to work to resolve the issue.
