Mayor John Paterson isnt willing to accept partial services.

Leamington isn't on board with a plan to open Essex County libraries on a rotating basis.

"Leamington is not willing to accept partial services," says mayor John Paterson.

He doesn't think his residents are going to be happy with the limited service that would be offered after six months of having the library closed.

"Leamington needs the full library service, not just a book exchange. I don't think that's what our residents are looking for."

Libraries in the county have been closed since June 25 when librarians went on strike. The library board is looking into opening county libraries on a rotating basis with non-union labour after librarians rejected the so-called "final offer" earlier this month.
