The LaSalle Rowing Club is getting its new dock after all.
Town council has approved an agreement which will see the club contribute $20,000 toward the $60,000 project.
This comes after council rejected a proposal from the club for a $10,000 contribution.
Rowing Club President Kevin Nyman says this is the first time they've been involved in a project like this.
"We came back, we worked at it. We had a couple meetings and put together a more serious proposal and everything went well. We touched on all the points they were looking for. Look forward to working with the town and going forward and making a new dock for the Town of LaSalle."
He says the current dock is in rough shape and should be replaced.
"We're the primary users, but there's a lot of use for it. Anytime you go down there you can see fishermen, there's kids on it, people launching kayaks. It is a well used dock. To have that access to the water, like that dock, it's probably one of the only ones around. It's very unique with its low profile."

Nyman says the new specialty dock will go in at Gil Maure Park in the spring.
"With the rowing shells, they need a low profile dock. Otherwise, when you come in, you'd be off kilter and it would definitely make it challenging getting in and out of the dock. The town, some of the councillors worked well with us to get this set up and they were a lot of help. I look forward to going forward with this."
LaSalle Council voted unanimously in favour of the second proposal which will see the club pay $10,000 in 2018 for construction and an additional $1,000 per year for the next ten years.
The LaSalle Rowing Club was formed 48-years ago and currently has close to 40 members.
