The Town of LaSalle is recognizing Canada's 150th with a mural.
Corporate Communication and Promotions Officer Dawn Hadre says residents and students from area schools will be painting 4"x4" mosaic tiles.
She says once the tiles are painted, they will be put together, creating a large mural at the Vollmer Centre.
Hadre says the town selected its theme for the mural.
"Our mural is based on the Griffin which is the ship that sailed down the Detroit River from the Explorer LaSalle which is where our town is named after," says Hadre.
The painting sessions take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Vollmer Centre.
The mural will be on display at the Vollmer Centre once completed.
