Ready to race. Lasalle native Kylie Masse is treating the FINA Short Course meet in Windsor like any other competition.
Masse spoke with Windsor area media after her final training laps at the newly completed pool facility at the WFCU Centre.
She says she's focused on the details of short-course racing and is doing the same kind of preparation she would for any international competition with the tapering down of training.
She says it's great to be back with her teammates, but the swimming is her focus: "obviously the Olympics was an amazing experience but in swimming we're always moving forward so trying to keep improving on my own times and places and rankings and get back in the pool and keep training and work on the things I can improve on"
Masse says the short-course approach is different because of all the turns and how much of the time she'll be underwater.
Opening ceremonies are tonight at the Colloseum at Caesars.
Masse is expected to be in the heats of the 100m Backstroke at the WFCU Centre tomorrow.
